RIDER QUOTES
Jason Davis – E2 class
“I kept to my game plan from day one,” said Davis. “This was to start steady and keep focused. It was raining on the first day and I just kept pressing on, and trying not to make any mistakes. I ended the first day coming second overall to Karl Power on his Honda. But I was only nine seconds behind him, so was still quietly confident of my chances.
“On day two, I picked up the pace. After a solid first day, I needed to lift the pace to stay in the running for the overall win. This was also a wet day, and I finished the day in first overall. Karl Power had to withdraw with mechanical problems on his Honda.
“Day three was all about consistency. I was comfortable with my lead now, but knew it was my race to lose now if I made a major mistake.
“I did have a couple of falls in one of the terrain tests, but nothing significant. It was certainly a great race to win, and the organisers did a fantastic job for this inaugural three day enduro.
“I felt my KTM 300 was the best bike for the event, and felt confident with the bike during the whole event.
“A few Aussie riders made it over for this event including Geoff Braico who was not used to the tree roots and all the mud, but still finished a credible fourth place and Ben Burrell who finished fifth..
